My Dad

Larry James Knight
September 17, 1944-October 28, 2007

My dad passed away on Sunday, October 28th while driving a forklift at work. A coworker found him slumped over in his seat and performed CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive. They were unable to revive him. It was quick and he didn't suffer.

He was a good father and spoiled me rotten. I was Daddy's little girl, always. I will miss him.

The votes are in...

The snappoll has spoken. We will be moving to Tokyo.

The only city in the poll that is more expensive than Dublin. Thanks.

I won't have the right to work there, so Riko will do the breadwinning and I'll shop for shoes and take care of the kid.

What's remarkable about these results is that the top three, Tokyo, Reykjavik, and Las Vegas, are places where our friends and family don't live. Given that those solicited to vote in the poll are our friends and families, the message is quite clear: Mike and Riko, stay away!

Live and learn.

Today is Riko's birthday. I think I won't tell her how you feel.

Doing the press rounds...

Whiskey is in a new coffee table book.

It was compiled by a Potrero Hill neighbor who takes photos of dogs while their owners are getting coffee at the Thinkers Cafe.

You should buy many copies of the book and tell the folks there Whiskey sent you.

Behbeh update

FORWARD OPERATING BASE DUBLIN
10-OCT-2007 1621 ZULU

Riko just completed an ultrasound examination, the first since we left San Francisco.

Everything is looking good.

We've attended two "antenatal" classes together. The midwife instructors have a peculiar, Irish way of pronouncing "baby." It's something more like behbeh.

Todd

Phoenix Show

SRL did a show in Amsterdam last week, and our old friend Todd Blair was seriously injured in the post-show disassembly. He's still in the hospital. Above is a picture of a few of us at the 1996 Phoenix show.

We're pulling for you, Todd.
