Our pictures from Manhattan Beach

Ryan at the Beach back on Nov 1

Back in SF

We spent Christmas down in SoCal with the family, at Kelly, John, & Katie's house.

Ryan fell asleep in the cab on the way home from the airport. After he woke and was goofing around in the living room, I probed him on the matter of where we were and where we had been. Suddenly it dawned on him.

He made an unhappy and concerned expression, looked around, then turned up his hands and said, "Oh no! John!"

He recovered a moment later.

Ready?

To be cont'd 2
We are settling into our new house.  A neighbor came by the other day with some homemade chocolate chip cookies to welcome us to the neighborhood.  Who does that anymore?  It was very nice.

Ryan has recently started giving us hugs and kisses.  It's the best thing ever and makes all those sleepless nights and poopy diapers worth it.  There is a statue of a lion a few houses down and one day when Ryan and I were walking around the neighborhood he went up to it, gave it a pat on the head then bent over and kissed it.  Now it is part of our routine.

Sorry for the delay...

Late Feb 2009 Guerneville

Here are some photos from Guernville, Goat Rock Beach, Robert Sinskey Winery, 180 Alpine Terrace and Easter Sunday at Beth's house. We have more current photos, including ones of the new house we purchased in the Inner Richmond, which I will download as soon as I can (between unpacking and watching Ryan).

Ryan is now running, likes to play chase and keep-away and he's learning new words every day. He climbs on everything including bookshelves, something Mike used to do when he was a toddler. He loves cars, Muni buses and trains, police cars and fire trucks (He screams 'Woo woo woo!' when they go by). He is such a boy! We're all doing well and glad to finally be in our home. There is a dog park near by for Whiskey too. -Riko

We did this drive on Monday. Lots of mossy oak and some nice views on the road to Cazadero.

Ryan's Arrival in California -- Dec Jan 2008 2009

Here are some photos of our arrival in Manhattan Beach, CA, Christmas morning, Ryan's first time seeing the Pacific Ocean, and our visit to Tacoma/Seattle, WA. Ryan is growing fast and adjusting well to his new home. We are currently living in Guerneville, about 2 hours North of San Francisco. Mike is working from home so has lots of time to spend with Ryan which is a good thing because he is so cute!

We're at Beth's!

Hi There.

We're spending tonight and some number more than that at Beth's place on Bernal. We're on the hunt for the place in which we'll be spending the next couple of months.

Email, post, or call me (or Beth) if you can fit in some baby time.

Mike

Coming soon to the Bay Area!

We're looking all over the place for something to rent for a couple months while our house is staged and on the market. My attitude is that the dumbest thing we could do is to rent on Potrero Hill, because we know what it's like to live there.

Fortunately, craigslist is chock-a-block with short term furnished rentals. We've been considering various neighborhoods in SF and the North Bay, but I just noticed there are real deals up around the Russian River. Sure, it's winter.

I'm wondering if we rented a 3 bed place would any of our SF area friends be willing to come up there and spent a night or two with us on the weekends... or any time, really, since my work is flexible at the moment. How about it?

Comment on this post or email me directly. We'll see if enough people think it's a good idea.

Mike
